locale configuration
Hi !

To set my locale to fr-UTF8 I run via ssh "dpkg-reconfigure locales". It seems to work well but not totally.

When I am root, locale give me this :

root@raspbmc:/home/pi# locale
LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=fr:en
LC_CTYPE="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_TIME=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="fr_FR.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_NAME=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=fr_FR.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

Whereas, for pi I've this :

pi@raspbmc:~$ locale
LANG=
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="POSIX"
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=

I've rebooted the RPi several times but no changes ! Some researchs about this issue on Debian doesn't give me a clue...

Thanks for your help !

RE: locale configuration
I can't change to pi neither root.
Everytime is POSIX

UPDATE:

Thanks to SAM:

After dpkg-reconfigure locales and change default to PT-BR:

add it in /etc/profile
alias portuguese.br=pt_BR.ISO-8859-1
export LANG=pt_BR
export LC_ALL=pt_BR
export LC_CTYPE=pt_BR
export LANGUAGE=pt_BR

reboot.

run locale.
voilá!
