Thumbs Down Howto: Emulate your raspbmc SD on Linux
Following http://xecdesign.com/qemu-emulating-rasp...-easy-way/, I was able to run my SD-card on linux.

Redirect console output:
Quote:sudo qemu-system-arm -kernel kernel-qemu -cpu arm1136-r2 -m 256 -M versatilepb -no-reboot -serial stdio -append "root=/dev/sda panic=1 console=ttyAMA0" -hda /dev/mmcblk0p3

Do not redirect console output:
Quote:sudo qemu-system-arm -kernel kernel-qemu -cpu arm1136-r2 -m 256 -M versatilepb -no-reboot -serial stdio -append "root=/dev/sda panic=1" -hda /dev/mmcblk0p3

If you take the image from http://forum.stmlabs.com/showthread.php?tid=730, you can even do the whole configuration part inside qemu before going mad with your Pi.
