RE: AirPlay not working after upgrading to IOS7

Just like to share some info in the hope to assist finding a solution here. I face the following situation:

My wife has a iPhone 4, with iOs7, RaspBMC (B-model) is only detected as an Audio device.
I have a iPhone 4S with iOS7, RaspBMC is only detected as an Audio device
Our iPad Mini with iOS7 however detects RaspBMC as a Video/Audio device

All devices originally were able to stream both audio and video when they operated on iOS6.

So could there be a difference in the versions of iOS which is causing this annoying problem with airplay?

Looking forward to your feedback.

Hmmm i tried to update my ipad mini 16gig wifi to ios 7 and got same result as with iphone 4s: audio only. I reinstalled ios 6 and now airplay works again.

RE: AirPlay not working after upgrading to IOS7
You really need to follow this thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=167545

Raspbmc will only be fixed once xbmc is fixed.
BTW, although the linked thread suggests people having better/worse success with nightlies, I believe this is all placebo.
I don't see any changes to the xbmc master tree to help this.

Sounds like iOS 7 makes airplay to xbmc unreliable. Sometimes you get lucky, but there is no fix until someone (Memphiz most likely) fixes it.
If airplay is important then staying on iOS 6 is the only option currently.

Yep

Some users have working audio and some don't with most reporting rebooting their device to increase chances of it working. Sounds like XBMC might not be advertising itself properly, could even be an iOS bug -- do we know if other AP targets are experiencing this, such as aTV?

someone needs to compare iOS6 AP with iOS7 AP in Wireshark and send it to Memphiz

RE: AirPlay not working after upgrading to IOS7
It's not just XBMC Airplay on RPi that doesn't work with iOS 7, it also doesn't work with XBMC on my Apple TV 2. Obviously, it works beautifully with stock ATV2 apps.

To be accurate, it's the video that doesn't display on both XBMC versions. They both still work as Airtunes clients.

RE: AirPlay not working after upgrading to IOS7
My problem is im on ios 7 and have been since the beta. I have the same issue with youtube, it pushes the audio but no video.

Problem I'm having lately is my living room Pi is not being picked up by Airplay and only the one i have in my basement (which unlike the living room is wireless).

Not complaining or looking for a fix, just stating my issues with airplay as of now.
